CMR
Flinders Cardiology is at the forefront of clinical and academic CMR in Australasia. Professor Selvanayagam heads a department of three, level 3 accredited consultants, a clinical fellow and a number of research fellows.
FMC have two recently updated, state-of-the-art MRI scanners (Siemens Sola 1.5T and Siemens Vida3T) and perform over 25 cardiac scans per week. Our current analysis software is Circle by CMR 42 which is available on multiple workstations throughout the hospital. We run weekly clinical and research meetings and have an ongoing lecture program to enable formal accreditation of your training with SCMR.
The CMR department and CIRSA research group deliver the only CMR level 2 teaching course and workshop in the Southern Hemisphere on a regular basis.
We currently offer a funded one-year comprehensive clinical fellowship in CMR, suited to candidates following core cardiology training. In addition to achieving Level 3 SCMR accreditation, we would expect that you would also have learned to scan independently by the end of the fellowship.
